In a recent Arizona auction, there was a classic Ferrari up on the block and it went for a price we never would have fathomed. It was a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider - quite the mouthful - and only one of 50 ever made. Eye-catching with its bright red body and flawless black interior, this is one nearly none could ignore. And it sold for a massive $8.8 million, setting a new record for the Arizona auctions.
While it's not the most expensive Ferrari ever sold, as that honor belongs to a 250 Testa Rossa that sold for $16 million in 2011, it still garnered a huge pile of cash for itself and we think it certainly deserves as much. The 11th In the line of 50, the 250 GT LBW California Spider is a convertible, offers an overhead-camshaft Colombo V-12 at 222.5 bhp, has a four-speed manual transmission, and is the perfect summer car... for millionaires of course. We're certainly envious.
