The very first hybrid vehicle to emerge from Maranello will arrive here at Boardwalk Ferrari in Plano before long. Ferrari has remained very tight-lipped about design and specs (for the most part), so when we heard a rumor that a pedestrian in Italy caught some spy shots of the car cruising around the city, we were pretty psyched.

But then we saw the pictures. And it appears the Ferrari doesn't want us to know anything about the car before its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. And actually - rumor has it that the automaker may even surprise us with an early debut before the end of the year.

Here's what we do know: the F70 is the successor to the Enzo. It's powered by a 6.3-liter, 800-horsepower drivetrain set up, and will be 40 percent more fuel-efficient than many other models in the new Ferrari lineup.

A hybrid that can run with the big dogs? We absolutely love that idea.

Meanwhile, fans had hopes it would debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, coming up in January. But, judging by the amount of camouflage the supercar is still hiding under, we aren't too hopeful on that one. Geneva in March is the next best bet, however, Ferrari CEO Luca di Montezemelo recently told fans, "At the end of the year, we'll also be unveiling the new Enzo."1

A New Year's Eve debut? Oh, we can only hope.

Stay tuned with the Boardwalk Ferrari blog for more news on the F70, as well as other models we're sure will make an appearance at upcoming auto shows.
